Buses :
Bus information will be mailed to your home the week before school begins. Please have your child give the postcard to the bus driver on the first day that they ride the bus. If you do not receive bus information, please attend the Transportation Open House which will be held on August 21 st or 22 nd from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The location for the open house is 900 S. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL. The phone number is 754-321-4100.
Schedules :
Your child’s first period teacher and room number will be posted on the wall outside of the school office on Sunday, August 22 nd. Your child will report to their first period class on Monday, August 23 rd at 9:00 a.m. At this time, they will receive their complete class schedule. If you have questions about your child’s schedule, please complete a “Schedule Concern Form” and return it to the Guidance Office.
Supplies :
Please have your child come to school with basic supplies such as a backpack, a book that your child likes to read, pens, pencils, one subject notebook, folders with prongs and pockets, a calculator,USB drive,notebook paper, colored pencils, a ruler, etc. Your child will receive a set of books to keep at school and a set to take home as we do not provide lockers.
If your child will be taking a Physical Education (PE) class, please purchase a combination lock for the PE locker. The coaches will explain the purchase of the PE uniforms. The cost for uniforms is $15.00.

Transportation has scheduled open houses at Area Transportation Terminals to aid parents who have questions and concerns regarding school bus transportation.
Due to limited budget resources, transportation specialists will not be scheduled to visit school locations.
Parents will receive a mailer the week prior to school opening indicating their student’s bus route number, bus stop location and pickup time.

This Summer @ Pembroke Pines Library DimensionM Gamers’ Club This summer join the DimensionM Gamers’ Club at the Pembroke Pines Library and take part in a math/gaming competition using multiplayer video games.
Four (4) different games to play: Tower Storm, Swarm lll, Meltdown lll, and Obstacle Course lll. Weekly competitions in 2 games: Tower Storm and Meltdown lll. Bring gaming skills, math skills, and strategy on Game Day to make it to the top! Win cool gear and top prizes!

Recycle - Reduce - Reuse
Walter C. Young Middle School recycles used ink cartridges and cell phones.

Help our school and also help save Mother Earth by recycling.

You can send all your empty print cartridges and
used cell phones to the main office.

Our school will receive a donation for every remanufacturable cartridge and used cell phone. We are also competing for a $1000 prize that will be given to the school that collects the most items by the end of the school year.
